Southlands
My father said I was blessed with the courage of Sigmar and luck of a Halfing. Looking back on my life, I was inclined to agree with his account. The world had given birth to many strange and fantastical creatures. Before I reached the Southlands, I thought I had already witnessed a number of unbelievable scenes. However, what I saw in that distant land was quite horrified. We had spent 3 months on the sea before we stepped onto the beach of the Southland’s coast. All my crew was expecting to reach some great exploration achievement in that unexplored jungle of the Southland because there was a tale about the lost ancient civilization cities in the depth of that area.
In the next two days, we marched into the deeper land. However, on the third day, we realized this jungle was an inhospitable place. My team got Attacked. The attack began with several spears throwing out from the bushes. Then, under the screaming, I heard the sound of a horn. A group of lizard-like creatures ran out from the bushes, but they were in men’s form, standing on their two legs and carrying some rough weapons. I immediately ordered my handgunners to make a counter attack. Nonetheless, it was just vain efforts: a newly appeared two-leg monster ruined my crew’s defense. It was a brutal beast whose forelegs were much shorter than its muscular hindlimbs. It rushed into my crew and started to tear their bodies apart, its long nail-liked teeth stained with blood.
I couldn't remember how I successfully retreated to my ship. The things I could remember were gun fires, the creatures’ savage howls, and people’s crying. I seemed to keep running for a whole day. Half of my crew were lost in that conflict. It was a real nightmare.
